Strong Yet Lightweight Construction

A standard UteMaster Load-Lid weighs approximately 50–70kg, offering an ideal balance between strength and usability. The lid is constructed from heavy-duty aluminium and features an integrated treadplate surface, allowing loads to be placed directly on top without additional racks or platforms.

The aluminium surface is finished in a Teflon-based matte black powder coat, delivering excellent resistance to wear, scratches, and harsh outdoor conditions.

What is the Destroyer Side Rail?

The UteMaster Destroyer Side Rail is a heavy-duty aluminium rail designed to increase the load-carrying and tie-down capability of the UteMaster Load-Lid™. Built from a hybrid of pressed and extruded aluminium and bolted directly to the lid, it offers a 200kg load rating and a tough, functional design. An integrated T-Track system allows accessories such as recovery track holders, tool mounts, and cross bars to be fitted directly to the rail, while multiple tie-down points ensure gear is secured safely for work or adventure.

What is a Load Stop?

The UteMaster Load Stop is a third rail mounted across the Load-Lid at the cab end, designed to make securing loads easier while reducing the risk of damage to the vehicle.

With a 200kg load rating, it provides a solid surface to rest loads against—particularly helpful when carrying awkward or heavy items such as wheelbarrows or long equipment.

Gas Strut Operation

The Load-Lid is supplied with gas struts set at optimum pressure for everyday use, assisting with smooth and controlled opening and closing.

These gas struts are intentionally not designed to hold the lid open when a load is placed on top. Supporting a loaded lid would require up to 200kg of upward pressure, which would make the lid unsafe and physically impossible to close. This design ensures realistic, safe operation rather than relying on misleading load claims.

The UteMaster Load-Lid is engineered for real-world driving conditions—not just parked vehicle claims.

Maximum Tub Usability

The Load-Lid sits above the top edge of the tub, meaning there are no intrusions below the tub rail. This allows maximum internal tub height and makes it common for customers to fit fridges underneath the lid.

The unique raised edge profile improves rigidity, reduces water pooling, and adds a tough, purposeful appearance. To determine what will fit underneath, measuring from the bottom of the tub to the top edge of the tub is recommended.

Secure, Lockable Design

The Load-Lid is supplied with a set of keys, allowing the lid to be manually locked to keep tools and gear secure at all times. Central locking is available as an optional accessory and can be purchased separately.

Easy Installation & Removal

UteMaster Load-Lids are designed for simple, drill-free installation on most vehicles. Installation instructions are available and clearly outline the process for each model.
